Young musicians to vie for Kairali-Swaralya Award
Kozhikode : Young and talened musicians would be vying for honours in the final round of Kairali-Swaralaya ''Gandharva Sangeetham,'' (musical nite), a reality show in the presence of ace playback singer Dr K J Yesudas here on June 15.
Talking to newspersons today 'Kairali TV' Chief Operations Officer Venkitaraman and Organising Committee Chairperson and Kozhikode Mayor A K Premajam told reporters here the Rs 8 lakh first prize money finale would see young musicians Rana Bhuvan (Thiruvanthapuram), Sruthi Saji (Nilambur), Abid Anwar (Ernakulam), Rajesh (Kasargod) and Arun Raj (Kannur).
They said the three-and-a-half hour music-dance competition would be a rare treat for the audience, who would be allowed free entry.
They said organisers, KTV and Swaralaya, a Thiruvanthapuram-based cultural outfit, has constituted well known music directors M S Viswanathan, M Jayachandran and playback singer Vijay Yesudas as juries for the programme to be anchored by playback singer Jyotsna.

Besides, Rs 8 lakh, the first prize winner would also get a sovereign from Kalyan Jewellers and a statuette. Ford Figo car and Maruti Alto car would be the second and third prizes, respectively at stake.
Speaker G Karthikeyan will inaugurate the event, in which former Kerala Minister M A Baby, MLA, eminent film personality and Jnanpeeth award winner M T Vasudevan Nair, 'Kairali TV' Executive Director T R Ajayan, will also participate,they added.
